Looking Out the Front Door of the Irish House...

I hope McFrank is not jealous, but I loved this little kitty peeking out the door!

The Shoulder Patch

The shoulder patch for the mission is represented in the English Garden below the memorial itself.

The Gardens in the Rain

This photo begins a series of pictures taken at the D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. This is a 30 minute drive from SML. It was a very cool and dreary day...much like June 6,1944. This is a most respectful spot...and because of the weather, my family and I pretty much had the memorial to ourselves.

This is the view of the Roanoke Valley taken from the star atop Mill Mountain.

The Star on Top of Mill Mountain

A quick 30 minute drive from Smith Mountain Lake would take you to Mill Mountain. Mill Mountain overlooks the Roanoke Valley. The star shines over the city, giving Roanoke the name of "The Star City of the South."
